Rani Mahal, Jhansi is one of the important historical landmarks associated with the heritage of Jhansi and Rani Lakshmibai. The palace was constructed in the late 18th century by Raghunath Rao II Newalkar, the Subedar of Jhansi, and later became one of the residences of Rani Lakshmibai, who lived here during 1853–1857.

The palace is known for its beautiful Rajput and Mughal architectural influences, ornate arches, decorative motifs, balconies and richly painted interiors. Its historic Durbar Hall features colorful paintings with floral, animal and geometric designs. Today, Rani Mahal houses a museum with important sculptures and archaeological objects connected with the region’s history.
